The media will stay at the door

Badminton

The next world promises to be increasingly digital for media representatives, including for the coverage of international events. Proof of this will be given a little later during the month of January in Bangkok, where the world badminton elite will meet for three international tournaments, including the Thailand Open (January 12 to 17), then the Finals. of the World Tour (January 27 to 31). The Badminton International Federation (BWF) and the Badminton Association of Thailand (BAT) have agreed that the media will not be allowed in the health bubble set up since the beginning of the month in the Thai capital. The organizing committee will provide journalists with competition footage, post-match statements and video interviews, available via a “Digital Media Hub” provided by the BWF. According to the international body, the health bubble organized in Bangkok did not record a single positive case of coronavirus among the 824 players, coaches and management members present in the capital. Their quarantine now over, the players are allowed to train under very strict safety protocols. The three Thai tournaments will take place behind closed doors.
