The Marathon for All has found its audience

Paris 2024

Big success for a first. The Marathon for All of the Paris 2024 Games, which started on Saturday August 10 from 21 p.m. on the square in front of the Town Hall, brought together 17 361 runners aged 20 to 85, plus 16.440 others (16 to 94 years old) for 10 kilometers. Among them, a group of sports personalities engaged on the same course, identical to that of the Olympic event: Alistair Brownlee, Paula Radcliffe, Michaël Jérémiasz, Amélie Mauresmo, Camille Lacourt, Dorothea Wierer, Mo Farah, Colin Kaepernick, AIling Gu. The Parisian organizers have once again chosen to innovate, in particular by proposing a light tunnel in the Côte des Gardes, supposed to restore courage and energy on this most difficult portion of the course, but also giant screens with recorded messages from athletes and families. At the same time, a connected Marathon for all, virtual but global, recorded the participation of more than 200.000 runners. It thus became the largest connected race in history. The aim was to run at least 30 minutes on the same day as the Marathon for All of the Paris 2024 Games.
