"This file is exceptional, and very probably the most emblematic of these Games.", stressed Grospiron, enthusiastic about the idea of ​​housing the athletes in this place, which is listed as a historical monument. The project, presented to the press on Wednesday, would consist of renovating the fort so that 940 athletes could occupy it by 2030.

"We know it's a complex operation, but I believe we're really giving ourselves every chance of success. It's not just an Olympic Village, it's a new part of the city, with a project of general interest for the population", insists the mayor of Briançon, Arnaud Murgia. At the end of the Games, the fort would indeed leave 150 housing, who are " part of which will be reserved for home ownership for low-income households " as well as seasonal workers according to the elected official.

« There will be less and less building land in our mountain towns because the law imposes and requires it, he explains on BFMTV. The rehabilitation of existing sites is essential. The reality is that today, We have no solution for the Three Heads Fort, we have been putting money into it for decades to keep it standing. (…) We want give it a new life by magnifying it. » Three other Olympic villages are planned for 2030 in Nice, Bozel and La Clusaz.
