FISU is getting ahead. The international university sports body will be a gold partner, the highest level of the marketing program, during the next edition of SportAccord, scheduled for May 23-28, 2021 in Yekaterinburg, Russia. The announcement was made via a press release published three years to the day of the start of the 2023 World University Games, precisely organized in Yekaterinburg (August 8 to 19, 2023). The Russian city was unanimously chosen last year by FISU. In the recent past, it hosted World Cup matches in 2018, then the AIBA World Boxing Championships in 2019. Yekaterinburg is also on the map of host cities for the Men's Volleyball World Cup in Russia in 2022.
