The family is growing

IOC

The IOC General Assembly, meeting in Buenos Aires, warmed its hands in anticipation of the election of Jacques Rogge's successor as president. On Tuesday, she elected nine new members of the organization. The most notable of them: the American Larry Probst, president of the USOC, the United States Olympic Committee. He thus becomes the 4th member of the IOC representing the United States, after Anita DeFrantz, Jim Easton and Angela Ruggiero. The other eight new additions to the Olympic family are Alexander Zhukov, the president of the Russian Olympic committee, former Kenyan athlete Paul Tergat, former rider Mikaela Maria Antonia Cojuangco-Jaworski from the Philippines, Swede Stefan Holm, Olympic vault champion in height in 2004, the former volleyball player and Brazilian MP Bernard Rajzman, the Romanian Octavian Morariu, president of his country's Olympic committee, the Ethiopian Dagmawit Girmay Berhane, member of the International Badminton Federation. Finally, the Dutchman Camiel Eurlings, the boss of the KLM company, was elected to replace King Willem-Alexander of the Netherlands, who resigned from the IOC since his arrival on the throne.
