The International Badminton Federation (BWF) does not trifle with the health of its players. It has just unveiled the latest version of its major events calendar for the 3rd and final quarters of 2021. No less than 10 BWF World Tour tournaments, all initially planned in Asia and Oceania, have been wiped off the map. At the top of the list, the China Open, the Japan Open and the India Open. Two of the competitions that should have been held in China have already been relocated: the Sudirman Cup finals will take place in Vantaa, Finland (September 26 to October 3); the World Tour finals, for their part, were awarded to Bali, Indonesia (December 1 to 5). This latest competition remains one of the rare Asian tournaments still on the international calendar for the current year.
