Anything but a scoop: the budget for the Milan-Cortina 2026 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games is increasing. The Italian Deputy Minister of Justice, Francesco Paolo Sisto, took advantage of a hearing before the Chamber of Deputies last week to take stock of the accounts of the organizing committee. The budget for the Games stands now at 1,628 billion euros. So far, nothing dramatic. But it had been announced at 1,362 billion euros during the candidacy phase. And it was posted at 1,553 billion euros when it was revised in 2018. The increase is therefore regular, and its curve could well continue to climb, due in particular to the delay in the works or the development of certain competition sites. The countdown shows D – 492 days before the start of the Milan-Cortina 2026 Olympic Games (6 to 22 February).
