2030 World Cup

The Mass has already been said and the victory acquired, but Morocco, Portugal and Spain are playing hard in the game of the candidacy campaign for the Football World Cup in 2030. Associated to organize an event of which they will share the first meetings with Argentina, Paraguay and Uruguay, the three countries unveiled their visual identity (photo above), and their slogan, YallaVamos. It is composed of the Arabic word “yalla” and “vamos” – common to Spanish and Portuguese – which both mean “forward”. The three countries also announced the first ambassadors, one for each of the three nations: Luis Figo for Portugal, Andrés Iniesta for Spain, Nourredine Naybet for Morocco. A handful of other players, including Cristiano Ronaldo, Dolores Silva, Álvaro Morata, Irene Paredes, Achraf Hakimi, Yassine Bounou and Ghizlane Chebbak, will also participate in promoting the project. Emmanuel Adebayor is also expected to serve as the bid's ambassador for Africa. Next step: the formal submission of the candidacy, in July 2024. The final decision regarding the host country of the 2030 World Cup must be taken by a vote of the FIFA Congress in the fourth quarter of 2024. It is already known.
