The Tokyo 2020 Olympic softball tournament already knows two of its teams. By dominating Japan 7-6, Sunday August 12 in Makuhari (Japan) in the final of the world championships, the United States won their ticket to the next Summer Games, where softball and baseball will make their return to the program, under additional sports. Japan, for its part, is assured of a place in the Olympic tournament as host country of the Games. The other four tickets will be put into play next year during continental tournaments.
