Gold and silver, but not bronze. IOC spokesperson Mark Adams confirmed this on Wednesday July 31 in response to a question from FrancsJeux: the medal ceremony for the team figure skating event of the Beijing 2022 Winter Games, scheduled for August 7 at the Parc des Champions, will involve only two of the three medal-winning countries. The United States (photo above), declared Olympic champions after the downgrading of the young Russian Kamila Valieva, will receive the gold medal. Japan will be awarded the silver medal. But there are no plans to award a bronze medal during the ceremony organized during the Paris 2024 Games. According to the latest ranking validated by the International Skating Union (ISU), it goes to the Olympic Committee team of Russia, whose total remains higher than that of Canada despite the withdrawal of the score achieved in Beijing by Kamila Valieva. But the IOC has no plans to distribute their medals to Russian skaters.
