The DRC has the keys to CAN 2024

Handball

It is now official: the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) will organize the women's African Cup of Nations (CAN) in handball at the end of the year. Host country of the Francophonie Games last year, the DRC had applied for the continental event, and obtained the assurance of hosting it. It was still necessary to formalize the agreement with the African Handball Conference (CAHB). This has been done since Monday March 4. The 26th women's handball CAN will be held in November in Kinshasa. This will be the first African Cup of Nations, all sports combined, organized in the DRC. But perhaps not the last, the country having very recently submitted a candidacy file for the football CAN in 2029.
