The Association of Asian Olympic Committees (OCA) concluded its annual general meeting on Sunday August 19 in Jakarta, on the sidelines of the 2018 Asian Games. A meeting marked by the presence of all the continent's 45 national Olympic committees, including that of Kuwait, whose athletes obtained the green light from the IOC last week to participate in the events. Chaired by Sheikh Ahmad al-Fahad al-Sabah, the OCA general assembly notably made it possible to sign the host city contracts for the 2026 Asian Games, the organization of which will be shared between Nagoya and the prefecture of Aichi, in Japan, and that of the Asian Beach Games in 2020, entrusted to the city of Sanya, on the Chinese island of Hainan. The 2026 Asian Games will take place on an unusual date, from September 19 to October 4, to avoid the intense summer heat in Nagoya and Aichi. The two candidates were the only ones in the running for these Asian events. Furthermore, it was announced that the next general assembly of the OCA would take place in March 2019 in Bangkok, Thailand.
