Great catch for Ghana. After hosting the African Games last March in Accra, the country has just won the organization of the African Athletics Championships in 2026. The Ghanaian federation, Ghana Athletics, announced this on its X account, specifying that the event will take place in the capital Accra. The decision was taken by the Council of the African Athletics Confederation, meeting in Douala, Cameroon. Ghana competed with Botswana. It obtained 12 of the 15 votes of the members of the Council of the body.
