SportAccord, the return. After a forced break of five years, imposed by the health crisis then by the conflict in Ukraine, the international sports convention will regain its place next year on the calendar of the Olympic movement. It will take place in spring 2024 (April 7 to 11) in Birmingham, England. SportAccord made the announcement via a press release on Tuesday August 29, specifying that the event would be held at the International Convention Center (ICC) in Birmingham, host city of the Commonwealth Games in 2022. It will be the second edition of the SportAccord convention in England, since its creation, the first having taken place in London in 2011, a year before the Olympic and Paralympic Games. The last edition of SportAccord took place in Gold Coast, Australia, in 2019. The following ones, planned for Beijing then Ekaterinburg, were canceled.
