The 2023 Worlds unveil their mascot

Ski

The opportunity was too good. The organizers of the 2023 Alpine Ski World Championships in Méribel and Courchevel took advantage of the stage of the Women's World Cup in the second of the two French resorts, on December 21 and 22, to unveil the official mascot of the event. It’s a chamois named Toya. An emblematic animal of the mountains, its name means “victory” in Savoyard dialect. From the Christmas holidays, Toya will travel the snow fronts and slopes of Méribel and Courchevel, then Alpine resorts and towns, to meet the public and promote the 2023 Alpine Ski World Championships. On December 24, a hunt for mascot will be organized between Méribel and Courchevel. It will end during the traditional torchlight descent. At the same time, the organizers inaugurated on Monday December 20 the official stores in the stations which will host the men's and women's competitions. They are located in Courchevel 1850, on the snow front of La Croisette, and in Méribel, in La Chaudanne, at the foot of the Roc de Fer, the track for the women's events.
