Third city in the Netherlands, The Hague was chosen by the International Sailing Federation (World Sailing) to organize the all-round world championships in 2022. The event will take place in August 2022, over a period of two weeks. It should bring together more than 1.400 competitors. The file presented by The Hague was preferred by the World Sailing council to the candidacy of Auckland, New Zealand. The two projects were analyzed last March by an evaluation commission. The Sailing Worlds in 2022 will serve as the main qualifying event for the Paris Games in 2024.
