The FIVB made the announcement on Wednesday March 20: the city of Rome will organize the beach volleyball World Championship in 2021. The event is part of a 4-year strategic plan (2019-2022), developed by the FIVB, the Italian Volleyball Federation and the Italian Olympic Committee (CONI). Its objective: to develop the discipline in the country by organizing at least one major event every year. The 2021 World Cup will take place at the Foro Italico, already used for the beach volleyball World Championship in 2011.
