Teddy Riner, the Olympic judo champion in the heavyweight category, was one of the stars of the SportAccord Annual Trophies ceremony, organized Thursday April 23 in Sochi at the conclusion of the 2015 Convention. The Frenchman was chosen by the jury to receive, with former Italian driver Alex Zanardi, the Hero of Sport trophy. Pole Marius Wlazly, member of the world champion national volleyball team, and Canadian Kalie Humphries, Olympic champion bobsledder in 2010 and 2014, were named male and female athletes of the year. Finally, the sports city trophy for 2014 was awarded to Sochi, ahead of Rio, Glasgow and Warsaw.
