The investigation continues in Japan into suspicions of corruption linked to the Tokyo 2020 Games. With, week after week, a new casting. The agency Kyodo News reports that the former president of the Japanese Olympic Committee (JOC), and former member of the IOC, Tsunekazu Takeda (photo above) was interviewed at length by investigators. Aged 74, the Japanese leader was reportedly questioned as a witness. The interrogation would have focused in particular on the way in which Haruyuki Takahashi, the former boss of the Dentsu group, the main accused in the case, joined the board of directors of the Tokyo 2020 Games in June 2014, and on the influence that he could practice there. Tsunekazu Takeda and Haruyuki Takahashi had known each other for a long time. They graduated from Keio University. The first of the two men was forced to leave the presidency of the JOC in June 2019, and at the same time the vice-presidency of Tokyo 2020, following an investigation into corruption in the allocation to the capital Tsunekazu Takeda currently serves as an external director of a Japanese parking company, Park2020 Co., which was among the partners of the Tokyo 24 Games.
