The organizing committee of the Men's World Championship in Herning (Denmark) won the International Ice Hockey Federation Sustainability Award (IIHF). This tournament shows that hockey can be sustainable “This is fantastic,” says Beate Grupp, head of the IIHF Sustainability Commission. Czech Republic takes second place for the organization of the Women's World Championship in Ceske Budejovice, which largely relied on the legacy of the Men's 2024 World Championship. Portugal climbs onto the third step of the podium for his work on sustainability in the development of the Serra da Estrela arena. Eleven applications Nominations for this prize had been submitted by ten countries: Bulgaria, Canada, Czech Republic, Denmark, Hong Kong, Hungary, Mexico, Poland, Portugal and Sweden.
