A storm of rare violence and torrential rains drowned the city of Sochi on Thursday, June 25, causing significant damage to the site of the Olympic Park for the Winter Games in 2024. According to several sources, several battalions of soldiers were dispatched on site to help evacuate residents. The extent of the damage has not yet been measured, but the course of the Sochi F1 circuit is said to have been partly flooded.
