President of the Association of National Olympic Committees (ANOC) and the Association of Asian Committees (OCA), Kuwaiti Sheikh Ahmad met for two days with representatives of Lebanese sport in Beirut to discuss sport and diplomacy.
On this point, relations between Kuwait and Lebanon are in good shape. Lebanese Sports Minister Faisal Karami praised the projects implemented between the two countries, including the assistance provided by the Kuwaiti Fund for Arab Economic Development (KFAED), Kuwaiti aid to Syrian refugee camps in Lebanon and the “moral support provided during the attack on Israel in 2006,” explains the OCA statement.
Sheikh Ahmad, for his part, congratulated the Lebanese sports authorities in particular for having “adopted legislation in line with the Olympic charter” so that Lebanon remains in the concert of sporting nations.
