Sheikh Ahmad Al-Fahad Al-Sabah, the powerful president of the Association of National Olympic Committees (ANOC), remains the master of Asia. The Kuwaiti leader was re-elected for 4 years at the head of the OCA, the Association of Asian National Olympic Committees. Organized during the OCA General Assembly in Ashgabat, Turkmenistan, the election experienced no suspense. Sheikh Ahmad, in office since 1991, was the only candidate for his own succession. He announced that he wanted to make youth and technological progress the two priorities of his new mandate.
