Busy week for the IAAF. The international organization is meeting its Council this Monday, September 23 in Doha, where the outdoor World Championships are scheduled to begin on Friday, September 27, 2019. This 218th meeting of the Council will focus in particular on the latest reports from the working group on doping in Russia. Barring an unlikely scenario, the suspension of the Russian Athletics Federation will be extended once again. After a day of rest, the 52nd IAAF Congress will begin on Wednesday September 25 at the Sheraton Grand in Doha. It should last two days and will be coupled with the Convention. The first day will be devoted in particular to the elections of the president, vice-presidents and members of the Council. The only one in the running for the top post, Sebastian Coe will be re-elected for a second 4-year term.
