Still threatened with a 4-year suspension from all major global sporting events, Russia wants to take advantage of the global health crisis to regain points. The director of the Russian Anti-Doping Agency (RUSADA), Yuri Ganous (photo above), announced that doping controls would resume in the country from May 10. The resumption of tests must respond to an approach “ balanced, selective and targeted”. RUSADA suspended controls at the end of March, when Vladimir Putin asked Russians to telework when their activity permitted. According to Youri Ganous, RUSADA continued its usual work during these weeks of shutdown, with the exception of tests. Agency controllers will be equipped with masks and disinfectant wipes. Athletes will also be asked to cover their face with a protective mask for the duration of the doping control procedure.
