Double blow for Patrick Baumann. The Swiss leader, IOC member and FIBA secretary general, is the new president of the SportAccord Convention. The Italian Francesco Ricci Bitti, the president of ASOIF, in place since June 2015 at the head of the event, announced Thursday June 22 his decision to withdraw in favor of Patrick Baumann, who has been in charge since last year the presidency of SportAccord (renamed last April GAISF). The two entities, the organization and the convention, will now be chaired by the same person. The next SportAccord Convention is scheduled to take place in April 2018 in Bangkok.
