Since Tuesday January 16, the Iranian Olympic Committee has had a new president, the 11th since the creation of the organization. Reza Salehi Amiri was elected unopposed in Tehran. He was the only candidate to succeed Kioomars Hashemi, who had decided to give up the position. Former Minister of Culture, then briefly Minister of Sports (August to October 2013), Reza Salehi Amiri chaired the National Library of Iran.
