Rekindle the flame

United States

Nice. The cauldron from the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta will be relit in a very symbolic way, Saturday February 29, for a handful of hours. The historic cauldron, moved after the Games from the Olympic stadium to Centennial Park, in the heart of the city, will regain all its strength during the American marathon selections, contested in the streets of Atlanta. The flame will be lit at the time of departure, at noon. It will remain there until the arrival of the last competitor, a little after 15 p.m. local time.
