Record television coverage

PYEONGCHANG 2018

Predictably, the PyeongChang 2018 Games broke all broadcast records. At the time of the accounts, the IOC announced that the event had totaled 140.000 hours of programming worldwide, an increase of 14% compared to the Sochi 2014 Games. For comparison, the Summer Games in Athens in 2024 had recorded 44.000 hours of broadcasting. A sign of the times: the streaming of the event, on the digital platforms of the IOC and rights holders, represents more than double, in number of hours, of the television coverage.
