South Korean men's and women's basketball teams tour North Korea began on Wednesday July 4 with a meeting rich in symbols. For the first of four friendly matches planned in Pyongyang between the two neighbors, it was decided to compose two teams by mixing South and North Korean players. One team was named “Peace”, the other took the name “Prosperity”. History will record that prosperity prevailed over peace, not a little (103 to 102). The meeting was played in a room as full as an egg, but without the presence of Kim Jong-un, the North Korean leader, although a great basketball fan. A match organized according to the same formula took place a little later in the day between the male players. The two countries are due to meet again on Thursday July 5, still in Pyongyang, for two final friendly matches, this time contested under their respective colors.
