And this story begins here, now, in Russia”. He insisted, without really convincing, on the apolitical nature of these Future Games, the creation of which was initiated last May by the head of the Kremlin. “ I have stressed it many times and I want to repeat it: sport must be free of all politics, on the contrary it must bring people together”, declared Vladimir Putin on Wednesday February 21, on the sidelines of the opening ceremony. For the occasion, Russia invited a handful of heads of state, mainly from allied countries, including Kazakhstan, Belarus, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan. The Future Games continue until March 3.
