D-Day for the smart cities & sport summit. The annual event kicks off this Tuesday, November 12 in Lausanne, with a long day of sessions and discussions dedicated to the theme of the 2024 edition: the relationships between host cities and international federations. Highlights from the program of the first day, organized at the headquarters of the International Basketball Federation (FIBA): a conversation with Pierre Rabadan, the deputy mayor of the City of Paris in charge of sports and the Olympic and Paralympic Games; a session devoted to the need for a solid dialogue between cities and international sports bodies during the candidacy phase; and a round table on how cities and federations can contribute to changing the way of life of communities. The second day, Wednesday, will invite participants to a different setting, the Maison du sport international. On the menu, a series of working groups in a more interactive mode, oriented around very current themes in the international sports movement, including technology and innovation, diversity and inclusiveness, sport and climate. After a stopover last year in Paris, the smart cities & sport summit returns to Lausanne on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the Swiss city's status as Olympic capital.
