It's done. As announced, the Spaniard José Perurena, head of the International Canoe-Kayak Federation (ICF), was elected Monday as president of the International World Games Association (IWGA). He intends to conclude an agreement with the IOC, of which he is a member, so that the World Games become a real showcase for sports candidates for the Olympic Games. José Perurena was elected at the IWGA General Assembly, which takes place in Belek, Turkey, as part of the major SportAccord convention. He succeeds the American Ron Froehlich who has headed the IWGA since 1992.
