José Perurena, the president of the International Canoe Federation (ICF), could add a new cap to his collection. Already a member of the IOC, the Spanish leader is in pole position to take over the presidency of the International World Games Association (IWGA), whose election is due to take place this week in Antalya, Turkey, within the framework of the Convention SportAccord. If elected, José Perurena intends to bring the IWGA closer to the IOC, with the idea of making the World Games a sort of laboratory to test candidate sports for entry into the Olympic program.
