A page is about to be turned at the International Volleyball Federation (FIVB). It promises to be historic, but it has already been written. Meeting in Porto, Portugal, from November 15 to 17, the annual congress of the body must elect a new president. As often in such cases, he is known even before the opening of the ballot. The only candidate in the running, the Brazilian Fabio Azevedo is assured of succeeding his compatriot Ary S. Graça, 81, who has been president of the FIVB since 2012. Current director general of the FIVB, which he joined in 2013 after working for a long time at the Brazilian Volleyball Federation, Fabio Azevedo, 53, will be elected on Saturday, November 16 for an eight-year term, until 2032.
