No more than three mandates

UCI

A wind of reforms blew through the 185th Congress of the International Cycling Union (UCI), organized last week in Doha, on the sidelines of the Road World Championships. A revised version of the statutes of the international organization was adopted by its delegates. In particular, it provides for the limitation to three of the number of mandates that its president can exercise. According to a press release, the UCI thus becomes one of the first international federations to formally adopt this restriction. The revised version of the statutes also provides for wider representation of continental Confederations within the UCI Steering Committee (at least two members for each). A change that benefits Africa, whose number of voting delegates increases from 7 to 9.
