The Olympic flame has arrived in Italy

Milan-Cortina 2026

It's here! The Olympic flame arrived in Rome on Thursday, shortly before 18 p.m. Tennis player Jasmine Paolini, Olympic doubles champion, and the president of the organizing committee, Giovanni Malago had the privilege of getting off the plane with him and accompanying him on his first steps on Italian soil.

Italy had officially received the flame from Greece earlier in the day, at Panathenaic Stadiumwhere Olympic track cycling champion Filippo Ganna was able to wear it. Now in Rome, it will begin its two months of relay across the country on Saturday.
