Mike Peters takes it up a notch

IPC

Great promotion for Mike Peters. Responsible for operations of the International Paralympic Committee (IPC) since July 2018, the American was promoted to the position of director general. He has been acting since the departure of Xavier Gonzalez last March. The IPC had been searching for the rare bird for six months. According to Andrew Parsons, its president, Mike Peters was the only internal candidate, compared to 180 external applicants from all over the world. But the American, selected for the Paralympic Games in 1996 and 2004 in 7-a-side football, received all the votes of the IPC executive committee. Mike Peters joined the IPC in 2015, after serving as its legal director during the London 2012 Games.
