Chair of the Brisbane 2032 Games Coordination Commission, Kirsty Coventry has left her post following her election as head of the IOC. The Zimbabwean is replaced by Mikaela Cojuangco Jaworski, as announced by the IOC on Monday. A former rider, the 51-year-old Filipina is a member of the IOC Executive Board since 2020She has served on the Coordination Commissions for the Tokyo 2020, Paris 2024 and Brisbane 2032 Games, and currently chairs the Olympic Education Commission.

« She wove close ties with Australia, since she has trained and competed in this country, notably in Brisbane, throughout her career ", underlines the IOC. Mikaela Cojuangco Jaworski will preside, from May 20 to 22, the next meeting of the coordination committee in Brisbane, in the presence of Thomas Bach and Kirsty Coventry.
