On his initiative, the FIS Council appointed the Frenchman Michel Vion as general secretary. Current president of the French Ski Federation (FFS), active support of Johan Eliasch during his campaign, he should take office after the Tokyo Games, where he will be the chef de mission of the French delegation. “ Michel brings the perfect combination of leadership skills and expertise of our sport to the position of FIS General Secretary, explained Johan Eliasch in a press release. The two functions being incompatible in terms of schedule, Michel Vion will have to give up his mandate as president of the FFS, which runs until June 2022. A steering committee should soon be convened to elect his replacement.
