Great catch for Michael Johnson. The new professional track and field circuit launched next year by the former 200m and 400m world record holder, Grand Slam Track, has just secured the presence of two American stars. Sprinters Fred Kerley (pictured above) and Kenny Bednarek are joining the adventure. Fred Kerley, the 100 m world champion en 2022, won a bronze medal in the same distance at the Paris 2024 Games. Kenny Bednarek is a double Olympic silver medalist in the 200m, at the Tokyo 2020 and Paris 2024 Games. They join a solid cast, including Americans Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone, Cole Hocker and Yared Nuguse, and Britain's Josh Kerr. The Grand Slam Track imagined by Michael Johnson proposes to bring together 48 athletes for four competitions in the year, dedicated solely to races, in short sprint (100/200 m), high hurdles (110/100 m hurdles), long sprint (200/400 m), low hurdles (400 m hurdles), short middle distance (800/1500 m), long middle distance (3000/5000 m). The winner of each of these families of events will receive a prize moneyof $ 100.000.
