The President of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, handed over Kosovo's decoration of honor to Hasan Arat during an official ceremony on Monday, January 12. This distinction particularly recognizes her support for Prishtina's candidacy, which was awarded the organization of the 2030 Mediterranean Games.

Hasan Arat spearheaded Istanbul's bid to host the 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Games, which was unsuccessful, as well as that of the 2027 European Games, crowned with success. He is currently a member of the executive committee of the European Olympic Committees, member of the coordination commission for the European Games Istanbul 2027 and member of the executive committee of World Athletics.
Kosovo's decoration of honor had previously been awarded to figures such as US Presidents Donald Trump, Joe Biden and Bill Clinton, former British Prime Minister Tony Blair and FIFA President Gianni Infantino.
