Just over 500 days before the Tokyo Games, the Australian Olympic Committee is breaking the bank. He announces his decision to distribute the total sum of 2,3 million Australian dollars (1,45 million euros) in scholarships and personalized aid to Olympic athletes in the run-up to the next Summer Games. No fewer than 192 athletes, from 17 Olympic disciplines, will benefit from this financial boost, awarded based on the medals obtained during 2018. With 18 gold, 19 silver and 20 bronze medals in all the disciplines of the next Games, won last year in the reference events, Australia ranks 5th in the world, behind the United States, China, Japan and Russia.
