Marta passes sixth

Paris 2024

A record for Marta. The top scorer in Brazilian history will play her sixth Olympic Games this summer in France, a few months before retiring from international soccer. At 38, she is included in the selection announced this week by Brazilian coach Arthur Elias. Marta has participated in every Olympic women's football tournament since Athens in 2004. She won two silver medals, in 2004 and 2008. The striker also played her sixth World Cup last year in Australia and New Zealand. Brazil will begin its Olympic campaign on July 25 in Bordeaux against Nigeria in Group C of the preliminary phase.
