UEFA thinks about fans and their wallets. Not so often. The European football body announced on Monday 2 September its decision to set a limit on the price of tickets sold to fans of a visiting club for its three competitions, the Champions League, the Europa League and the Conference League. From the 2024-2025 season, the maximum ticket price for away fans is set at €60 for the Champions League, €40 for the Europa League and €20 for the Conference League. UEFA also explained that the price of tickets would be further reduced for future seasons. It specifies that this initiative is made possible by the new format of the Champions League, where all teams will play a minimum of eight matches, and up to 17 if they reach the final. The total number of matches for the entire competition increases from 125 to 189.
