Football clubs are not remaining inactive in the face of the prospect of a 75% tax on high incomes. The president of the UCPF (Union of Professional Football Clubs), Jean-Pierre Louvel, told AFP on Wednesday that a general meeting of the club union is scheduled for October 24 to discuss this taxation. “We have called a general meeting for October 24 to inform the clubs of the different scenarios envisaged. But for the moment we are in a phase of discussion and dialogue with the public authorities,” declared the boss of the UCPF, also president of Le Havre. But Jean-Pierre Louvel denied information published Wednesday on the Journal du Dimanche website, citing a threat of a strike on one day in Ligue 1 and Ligue 2 in order to protest against the implementation of the 75% tax.
