Change is now. 2025 is a election year for the athletes' commissionof the International Cycling Union (UCI). Two new membersare already known: Eva Lechner (photo above) and Felipe Orts will represent cyclo-crosswithin the commission from September. No vote was necessary since the Italian (39 years old, vice-world champion in 2014) and the Spaniard (29 years old, vice-champion of Europe in 2024) were the only candidatesand that they met all eligibility requirements. Nine other disciplinesappearing within the commission (road, track, cross-country mountain biking, downhill mountain biking, BMX racing, BMX freestyle, para-cycling, trials and indoor cycling) will designate their representatives during their respective World Championships. Only athletes participating in the World Championships will be able to participate in the vote. The members of the commission are elected for a four-year term, which will therefore last until 2029.
