ISU has chosen its ambassadors

Skating

Great choice. The International Skating Union (ISU) has revealed the names of its ambassadors for the upcoming World Ice Skating Day, which is set to take place on Sunday, December 15. Its choice fell, as a matter of course, on Americans Evan Bates and Madison Chock (pictured above), reigning world champions in ice dancing. They will be in Budapest, where the ISU has chosen to hold the major event of its world day, at the City Park ice rink, the largest outdoor ice skating venue in Europe. The Hungarian capital was selected by the international body after winning the award for the best celebration of World Ice Skating Day last year. As it does every year, the ISU will financially reward the cities, clubs, associations or federations that have organized the best celebration, with a bonus of $3.000 or $5.000 depending on the size of the event.
