500 days before the Tokyo 2020 Games, where it will make its debut as an additional sport, climbing is turning to Japan to strengthen its communication. Its international federation, the IFSC, announces in a press release that it has signed a partnership agreement with two Japanese companies, Dentsu and Synca, based in Tokyo. It jointly grants them the media and marketing rights for official IFSC events for the period 2019-2023, in Asia Pacific (excluding China), Latin America and the Caribbean. Global advertising and public relations giant, Dentsu is the marketing agency for the Tokyo 2020 Games. Synca, an audiovisual production and broadcasting company, has already been working with the IFSC since 2013. As a reminder, the escalation has been proposed by the COJO as an additional sport for the Paris 2024 Games.
