Olympic downhill champion in 2010, the American has wanted for several seasons to be allowed to take part in a men's alpine skiing World Cup event. She requested it in 2012, but the International Ski Federation (FIS) refused it. The American Federation renewed the request, specifying that Lindsey Vonn wanted to participate in the first downhill of the post-Olympic season, in the fall of 2018 in Lake Louise, Canada. A request which, this time, could be studied by the FIS.
