Will Lindsey Vonn soon be able to compete against men? Maybe. Not sure. Olympic downhill champion in 2010, the American has wanted for several seasons to be allowed to take part in a men's alpine skiing World Cup event. She requested it in 2012, but the International Ski Federation (FIS) refused it. The American Federation renewed the request, specifying that Lindsey Vonn wanted to participate in the first downhill of the post-Olympic season, in the fall of 2018 in Lake Louise, Canada. A request which, this time, could be studied by the FIS. According to a representative of the International Federation, cited by theAFP, the subject must be discussed at the executive committee meeting next May, with a decision expected in the spring. Reaction from the American Federation: “There remain many points to clarify with the FIS. The discussion is encouraging. There is now a formal proposal before the FIS, which we will be able to study in detail during the season. »
